Deputy César Rivas assured that in the last vacation period, there was also a little influx of countrymen
Sales in the municipality of Santiago Papasquiaro have registered a drop of up to 50 percent, a situation that has generated concern among merchants and families who depend on sending remittances, reported the local deputy for the National Action Party (PAN), Julián César Rivas B. Nevárez.
In an interview, the legislator warned that the economic impact is already visible in different sectors, and it is all due to the lack of money that arrived from the United States, in addition to the decrease in the cost per dollar.
“
It is much that has been noticed in Santiago Papasquiaro, sales are falling, there I would say that up to 50 percent in the municipality, it is very worrying, very worrying that remittances have fallen much more than five percent, the dollar has also gone down and although they send the same dollars the value is lower, and then the fall in remittances has been greatly felt in our state.”César Rivas, local PAN deputy
Rivas B. Nevárez added that another factor that has affected the local economy is the decrease in the visit of countrymen during the recent vacation period, which has further reduced the economic spillover in the region.
“
It is also very worrying because the countrymen no longer visited us so much on these vacations, they are afraid to come because many unfortunately do not have documents to enter and leave.”César Rivas
He reiterated that many of the families in Santiago Papasquiaro, even in other parts of the state, live on remittances, from what relatives and children send to their parents, so the decrease in remittances is felt in commerce, mainly, where sales decrease and people consume little.
