A minor was admitted to the Maternal and Child Hospital in Durango City on Friday night after suffering a miscarriage at home. She arrived at the hospital with the stillborn fetus.
The admission occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the aforementioned hospital, prompting authorities to be notified through the C5 emergency system.
According to the report, the teenager was identified by the initials Y.Y.G.C., 14 years old, who allegedly did not know she was pregnant until she began experiencing heavy bleeding.
Personnel from the Durango State Attorney General’s Office went to the hospital, where they interviewed Daniela, who stated that the incident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m., when the minor went into the bathroom at her home and moments later called for help.
Upon arrival, they noticed the teenager was bleeding heavily and had expelled a fetus. She was immediately taken by private means to the Maternal and Child Hospital for medical attention.
Medical personnel diagnosed the minor with a induced labor due to a pathological period and retained placental fragments. Her condition was reported as stable, although she was awaiting surgery for a dilation and curettage (D&C).
Authorities were notified of the incident and carried out the corresponding procedures. To date, no evidence of a crime has been reported.
