Active ageing. The ‘Durango Amigable con las personas mayores’ group, whose aim is to promote activity through community participation, health promotion and the creation of safe environments, thus contributing to improving the quality of life of this group in the municipality, has been the origin of a monthly initiative that compiles a selection of activities and events organised in the municipality, especially designed for older people.

This ‘Durang0 Dinamiko’ project attempts to cover a need identified in the diagnosis carried out, which highlighted the lack of information on the participation opportunities that the municipality offers to older people. To address this situation, a monthly poster has been designed that brings together activities of different kinds, promoting the integration and active participation of older people in the social life of Durango. The selection of activities includes talks, colloquia, exhibitions, plays, concerts and game workshops, among others.

The preparation of this monthly programme has involved the collaboration of several local entities, including the municipal area for the Elderly, the Bizenta Mogel Biblioteka, the San Agustin Kultur Gunea, the Zugaza Zinema, the Museum of Art and History of Durango, the Bizidun association, the Izar Gaztea association and the Durango Artists Association.

The physical poster will be distributed on information panels located in different parts of Durango, as well as in municipal buildings, shops, bars, pharmacies, among other strategic places. In addition, the dissemination of the programme will be carried out through social networks, WhatsApp groups for the elderly, the press, radio and other digital channels. The November poster has already been published.
