The Tourism Secretariat is implementing the pilot program called “Film Getaways” on Saturdays and Sundays, where they seek to have visitors to different municipalities experience their own history.
Elisa Haro Ruiz, head of the aforementioned Secretariat, said that this pilot program seeks to make tours for tourists or residents of the city of Durango who wish to do so in the municipalities of Nuevo Ideal and Nombre de Dios.
The idea of these tours, she explained, is to go to the Mennonite community in Nuevo Ideal and learn about it, even eat there; on Sundays it would be to go to Nombre de Dios to learn about how people live in this municipality and, also, eat in that demarcation.
At the same time, she indicated, work is being done on consolidating the Mezcal Route with training and dissemination so that tourists or Durango residents want to get to know it.
She even commented that some mezcal companies that during this year’s eclipse in Durango acted as tour operators are now diversifying and continue offering tourist destinations in Durango.
Haro Ruiz said that a lot of work is being done to ensure that Durango residents and tourists know not only about Durango, but also about the municipalities, the magical towns and those that are not in this classification but also have wonders in their territory.
