Rollover leaves 16 injured on Mazatlán-Durango highway


A van carrying 8 adults and 8 children overturned on a curve at kilometer 198 of the Mazatlán-Durango highway, causing a great scare among the occupants.

The van was heading to Mazatlán from Ciudad Juárez, but the driver lost control on a curve, resulting in a rollover on the side of the highway. According to official information, only one person suffered serious injuries, while the other passengers, including the eight children, were unharmed.

Elements of the Veteran Firefighters of Villa Unión and the Red Cross of Concordia quickly arrived at the scene aboard ambulances to care for the injured. Fortunately, only one person was seriously injured and received immediate attention.

Personnel from the Federal Highways and Bridges (Capufe) also came to provide necessary support, while elements of the National Guard Highway Division carried out the corresponding expert appraisal. The National Guard gathered information about the accident and requested a crane to remove the affected vehicle.
