In terms of employment, Villegas Villarreal reaffirmed his commitment to generating 40,000 direct jobs before the end of his administration. He said this goal will be surpassed when the indirect jobs generated are also taken into account.

Security, Another Challenge for Durango

The governor acknowledged that security remains one of the main challenges, particularly because of Durango’s geographic location and its borders with several states across the country.

However, he stated that the state remains among those with the lowest number of intentional homicides, highlighting that it ranks second nationally on this indicator, according to statements made during his report.

Water, employment, and security were some of the central issues addressed by Esteban Villegas as he reported on his fourth year leading the government of Durango.
