Five vehicles with active theft reports in Sonora, Chihuahua, and Sinaloa were located and seized in the community of Santa Gertrudis, which belongs to the Municipal Board of El Durazno, in the municipality of Tamazula, Durango. The vehicles had been abandoned and were located during a crime prevention and enforcement operation involving officers from the State Police, the Secretariat of National Defense, and the National Guard.
After verifying their information, authorities confirmed that the vehicles had been reported stolen. Among the vehicles seized was a 2022 Nissan Frontier pickup truck, gray and without license plates, reported stolen in Chihuahua on May 31, 2024; as well as a 2012 blue Honda CR-V with license plates, for which a theft report was filed in Sinaloa on June 26, 2017.
Also located were a 2017 white Jeep Wrangler Sahara, reported stolen in Sinaloa on October 3, 2018; a 2016 gray Mazda, reported stolen in Sonora on April 15, 2025; and a 2020 gray Nissan Versa with Baja California Sur license plates, reported stolen in Sinaloa on March 20, 2025.
The five vehicles were transported and placed at the disposal of the Durango State Attorney General’s Office, where the corresponding investigation file will be opened and the necessary proceedings will be carried out to determine their origin and, if applicable, return them to their owners.
