The Durango City Council continues to carry out a series of projects at Zabalarra Eskola aimed at improving educational spaces and adapting the school to current pedagogical needs. These projects include improving acoustic comfort in common areas, renovating interior woodwork, and refurbishing the three-year-old classroom and its restroom.
On the one hand, acoustic panels were installed in the Ikaslab (children’s classroom), the preschool dining hall, and the primary school dining hall last March. This project, with a budget of €9,188, addresses the need to reduce reverberation levels in high-traffic areas, improving acoustic comfort for students and staff.
Furthermore, the replacement of five interior doors in the school will be carried out in July, with a total budget of €3,910.21, also from the 2025 budget. The project includes the installation of three double lacquered glass doors and two 86 cm wide lacquered glass doors. This project will allow for the renovation of interior woodwork and improve the functionality of the spaces.
Furthermore, also in July, work will begin at Zabalarra Eskola as part of the ‘Udaleraiki 2025’ program. This work focuses on the renovation of the 3-year-old classroom and its restroom, with a total investment of €32,723 allocated in the 2026 budget. The project includes the removal of the dividing wall, the creation of larger and more flexible spaces, the replacement of flooring, and the incorporation of construction and carpentry solutions that improve sound insulation. In the restroom, the work will involve a redistribution of resources, the renovation of facilities, and improvements to the accessibility and functionality of the space.
