The presence of armed forces in the state capital has not affected tourism or the scheduling of events for the coming months, assured the Secretary of Tourism, Elisa Haro Ruiz.
The state official affirmed that, so far, there has been no decrease in the number of visitors to the state, reflecting the confidence that tourists, event organizers, and companies interested in developing projects in Durango maintain.
“There has been no decrease in tourists to Durango. As the governor has said, Durango is fortunately among the safest states in the country. That’s how it’s perceived, that’s how people perceive it everywhere we’ve been, and the results we see will definitely reflect all of that,” she noted.

She explained that the positive perception of security conditions will be reflected not only in the leisure tourism expected during the July holiday season, but also in other sectors that generate significant economic activity.
In this regard, she highlighted the upcoming major sporting events, including the Titan competition, which will attract participants and visitors from various regions of the country. Additionally, other sporting activities are planned that will boost hotel occupancy and the consumption of tourism services.
Haro Ruiz indicated that security has also been a determining factor in maintaining the interest of the audiovisual industry in Durango, a sector that has historically found favorable conditions in the state for the development of film and television productions.
Finally, the Secretary of Tourism affirmed that the second half of the year will be marked by intense tourism, sporting, and audiovisual activity, reiterating that security continues to be one of the main strengths that allows Durango to attract investment, events, and visitors.
