The Director of Revenue Collection for the State of Durango, Eduardo Solís Nogueira, announced that a special program will be implemented in the coming months to register foreign vehicles that were not legalized under the federal decree issued in previous years.

The official explained that many foreign-made vehicles continue to circulate in the state despite lacking proper registration, so the goal is to create a state registry that will allow for the full identification of owners and drivers.

Eduardo Solís Nogueira detailed that this registration of foreign vehicles will be coordinated through the State Secretariat of Public Security and will aim to strengthen security and vehicle control measures.

He indicated that the intention is to have accurate information on who owns these vehicles, who drives them, and their addresses, in order to facilitate their identification in case of accidents, legal disputes, or any situation related to public safety.

He added that this strategy will be implemented using a similar approach to the federal regularization process, with regional offices set up to serve taxpayers interested in registering their vehicles.

The state tax collector indicated that interested individuals should visit the corresponding offices and present basic documents such as the vehicle title, official identification, and proof of address to be included in the state registry.

He also mentioned that they are currently analyzing the possibility of issuing a special license plate or sticker to identify vehicles that, while not officially registered, do have the corresponding state registration.

Solís Nogueira stated that this process will have a cost, a matter still under review by the state security committee, where the amounts and guidelines will be defined and announced later.

Finally, he reiterated that the main purpose of registering foreign vehicles is to maintain greater control over the vehicles circulating in Durango and strengthen public safety.
