Durango has taken a significant step in consolidating its automotive industry by beginning mass production of specialized components for Ford electric vehicles at the LS e-Mobility Solutions plant located in the state. This start of continuous manufacturing will supply the North American automotive supply chain and marks the culmination of a project that was developed over more than two years, solidifying Durango as a key hub in the global automotive industry.

With a significant investment and the support of the State Government, Durango is positioning itself as a leader in the automotive industry in Mexico. Representing Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal, the Secretary of Economic Development, Fernando Rosas Palafox, highlighted the impact of this new production phase. According to Rosas Palafox, the start of mass production of components for Ford is not just an isolated event, but a clear indicator of the industrial growth that Durango is experiencing.

“This production start is not an isolated event; it is a clear and compelling indicator of the industrial growth we are experiencing, generating quality jobs and strengthening supply chains that directly impact Durango families,” stated the Secretary.

With this new investment, LS e-Mobility Solutions joins the effort to diversify the economy of Durango, a state historically known for its mining industry. The presence of an electric vehicle plant of this magnitude not only boosts the local economy but also contributes to technological development in the region, creating highly specialized jobs and incorporating cutting-edge technology in the manufacturing of automotive components.

The State Government has played a key role in creating a favorable environment for investment through industrial policies that facilitate the arrival and expansion of global companies. Fernando Rosas Palafox emphasized that the State Government has supported LS e-Mobility Solutions since its early stages in Durango, and assured that strategies will continue to be implemented to attract more investment that generates decent jobs and promotes the growth of new industries.

The CEO of LS e-Mobility Solutions Mexico, Mr. Seung Woo You, also expressed his gratitude to the State Government for the support provided throughout the process and highlighted the positive impact this project will have not only on the company, but also on Durango and the Laguna region.
