According to INEGI statistics and the results of the latest Economic Census, published in January, in Durango there are 351,516 people employed in 64,613 economic units, ranging from small businesses to large companies.
Annual income varies according to the business
One of the most relevant data from this census is the average annual income per worker, which varies according to the size of the business:
Microenterprises (from 1 to 10 employees): The average annual income is 88,957 pesos, which is equivalent to seven thousand 413 pesos per month.
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) (from 11 to 250 employees): The average annual salary is 147,737 pesos, that is, 12,311 pesos per month.
Large companies (more than 251 employees): The average annual income amounts to 172,108 pesos, with a monthly salary of 14,342 pesos.
It should be noted that, according to INEGI, this income already includes benefits such as Christmas bonuses and other benefits.
Comparison with CDMX, NL and BC
Compared to other entities in the country, Durango ranked 19th in income level. In contrast, Mexico City records an average annual income of 244 thousand pesos, while Baja California and Nuevo León report 197 thousand pesos.
Chiapas and Guerrero, the lowest
On the other hand, the states with the lowest salaries are Guerrero and Chiapas, with 108 thousand pesos per year, and Oaxaca, with 114 thousand pesos.
