What cultural activities will there be at Durango’s Callejoneadas?

This February 2nd will see the return of the Callejoneadas to the Historic Center of Durango, in an activity organized by the School of Mexican Music (ESMUMEX) and the Institute of Culture of the State of Durango (ICED). The first day of the event will begin at 5:00 p.m. on the corner of Independencia Street and 20 de Noviembre Avenue, moving along Florida Street until reaching the Teatro del Calvario, where the musical performances will take place.

In this first edition, local groups such as the rondallas Durango SEMST, Luna de Octubre (Section 44 of the SNTE), Varonil Universitaria (UJED) and Claveles Negros (Technological University of Durango) will perform, who will perform a repertoire dedicated to the romantic genre.

The callejoneadas will continue every Sunday in February with a diverse cultural offering in Durango. On February 9th, comedian Rogelio Ramos will offer a comedy show. On February 16, there will be a Dance Encounter and a Polka Competition, while on February 23, singer-songwriter Héctor Montemayor will close the program with songs dedicated to Durango.

All events will be free to attend, allowing the public to enjoy this tradition that seeks to keep music and culture alive in the state. The invitation is open to those who wish to be part of these activities at the Teatro del Calvario.
