Although the exhibits of each of the venues belonging to the State Institute of Culture are renewed from time to time, during this December season the last ones of the month will remain.
Such is the case of the Museum of History and Contemporary Art “El Palacio de los Gurza”, where a series of temporary exhibitions are currently being held. Among them, the collective painting exhibition “Metamorfosis” stands out, by students of the School of Painting, Sculpture and Crafts of Durango.
In addition, “Santos de estas y otras tiempos” is on display, which offers a unique view of religious iconography. Also notable are the collective exhibition “Tolerance” and the graphic exhibition “Infernum Terrenum”, with innovative and reflective proposals.
This venue will be open from 10 in the morning until seven in the evening.
OPEN SCORPION ARROW
For its part, the Museum of Modern Art “Guillermo Ceniceros” currently houses the project “El Elevador” by Pau Medina and the collective exhibition “Faces that Emerge”, which connects with identity and contemporary visual expression.
However, in this same place there is a new scorpion arbor, located in the lower part of the museum, where more than 200 of these arachnids are housed.
This enclosure will be open during the same hours as the previous one.
The Museum of Popular Cultures of Durango, with a more limited schedule, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., invites you to enjoy the “Guadalupana Exhibition”, a proposal that celebrates the religious and cultural traditions of the region.
For those interested in history and archaeology, the Durango Archaeology Museum “Ganot-Peschard” opens its doors from nine in the morning until six in the evening to offer a tour of the ancestral heritage of the state, where you can learn about the origin of Durango and its native peoples.
Finally, the House of Culture offers a vibrant cultural space with the temporary exhibition “Duende Real” by the artist César Cervantes, with extended hours from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., ideal for those looking for a moment of art in an accessible and familiar environment.
The venues will be open every day during the season.
