The President regretted that no one remembers that today the promulgation of the 1917 Constitution is commemorated
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that at the end of this school year he will present an initiative so that historical dates are commemorated exactly on their corresponding day.
“At the end of the current school year I am going to propose reforms, changes to return to historical dates so that the day on which a historical date is commemorated is celebrated, of course, the most important,” he said.
At the beginning of his morning conference, the President regretted that in schools students talk about the “weekend holidays”, but not why they do not attend classes and he set an example that although today the promulgation of the Constitution of 1917 is commemorated, no one remembers.
“It is very unfortunate that in recent times these civic, historical dates have been forgotten, children in high school even talk about bridges, but not why they do not attend school on a Friday, a Monday, as just happened and it turns out that today February 5 nobody remembers that the Constitution was promulgated. “
He reiterated that for his government the history of Mexico is fundamental, as well as civics and ethics, so, “although it causes controversy,” it is important to strengthen these matters.
