Cieneguillas, Zacatecas.- The Zacatecas Public Security Secretariat (SSP) reported that it maintains an operation in the area surrounding the Cieneguillas Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center (Cereso), to search for 12 inmates who escaped this Wednesday.
According to local authorities, the inmates escaped from an annex through a tunnel of approximately 50 meters, which would have been built in a period of six or eight months. The people then left in three vehicles.
At least 10 of the evaded are related to the Gulf Cartel and Los Talibanes, Los Zetas cell, which respond to the names of Benito Javier; José Rivera; José de Jesús R; Carlos Vélez; Andrés de Jesús T .; Edgar Benito; Sergio Navarro; Oscar Misael; Cruz Quintanilla; José Noé Benítez and Jorge Alberto.

Two have already been recaptured, along with two accomplices, when they were traveling aboard a red van. The vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint on Boulevard López Portillo, at the height of the crossing to Sauceda de la Borda, in the municipality of Guadalupe.
