PRI senator asks to cancel refinery and bring private investment to the energy sector: “an economic growth plan is urgent”

According to the PRI senator, growth forecasts for Mexico are negative for 2021, so “an economic growth plan is urgent.”

MEXICO. — For Senator Vanessa Rubio, it is better to bring private investment to the energy sector and cancel the Pemex bailout with the construction of the Dos Bocas refinery.

The PRI senator, Vanessa Rubio, of the party of the Institutional Revolution Party (PRI), summoned the López Obrador government to allocate the resources of the Dos Boca refinery and the Maya Train, to the Health sector and to the fight against COVID -19.
And before the fall in oil prices, I assure you that it is not feasible to inject resources into Pemex. So “we should be thinking about bringing private investment to the energy sector.”

The 14 billion dollars from Dos Bocas would serve to support the activities to care for the Covid-19 patients, as well as the 140 billion dollars from the construction of the Maya Train.
